Minnetonka has a wide range of homes, from simple ramblers to some of the most high-end homes in Minnesota. One of the challenges we come across is cedar siding. Cedar siding was common in the 70's and 80's and the life span of that siding is coming to an end. We run into a lot of rotted wood that we have to cut out and replace. Cedar has become extremely expensive and is a worse product compared to new wood products (the same goes for cedar shake roofs).

Yes, permits are required by the city of Minnetonka. Their permits are based on a percentage of the cost of the job, so it can get pricey. 

Yes, we have done several historical homes in St.Paul and Minneapolis. The permit process will take longer since the city needs to approve the materials and the colors. So far, we haven't run into issues with the approval of materials or colors.  Lead paint is often found on older homes and this requires proper removal, containment, and disposal.
