NE Minneapolis Metro
Was Your Area Hit?
The storm tracked west-to-east across the metro, with the heaviest hail along the Roseville–Little Canada–North St. Paul corridor. If you're in one of these areas, there's a good chance your roof took an impact:
Hardest hit
Roseville (55113), Little Canada & west Maplewood (55117), Falcon Heights & Lauderdale (55108), North St. Paul & north Maplewood (55109)
Also affected
Shoreview (55126), Arden Hills (55112), Oakdale (55128), St. Anthony (55418)
Lighter hail reported - still worth a look:
White Bear Lake (55110), Columbia Heights & Fridley (55421), Fridley (55432)
Don't see your zip but think you got hit? Hail is unpredictable and large stones often fall in spots that never get formally reported. If you saw or heard hail on the 19th, it's worth having someone check.

How Do I Know If I Have Hail Damage?
Hail damage isn't always obvious from the ground, and how much damage occurs depends a lot on hail size and the age of your shingles.
Signs to look for: dented gutters, downspouts, or metal vents; granules collecting in gutters or at downspout outlets; dings on siding or AC units; and bruised or cracked shingles. Because the riskiest damage is often on the roof itself, the safest move is a professional inspection.
- 3/4" hail (pea to marble): Usually not enough to damage a roof on its own.
- 1" hail (quarter-size): Can damage older or worn shingles; newer shingles often hold up.
- 1.5" hail (golf ball): Real damage likely, even on newer roofs.
- 2"+ hail (golf ball to larger): Serious damage. Inspection strongly recommended.
Why Get an Inspection Now?
- Hidden damage gets worse. Small cracks and bruises let water in over time. Catching it early is far cheaper than repairing a leak later.
- Insurance has deadlines. Most policies have a window for filing storm-damage claims. Knowing what you're dealing with sooner gives you time to act.
- Peace of mind. Even if there's no damage, you'll know for certain, and you'll have it on record that you had it checked after the storm.
