Founded in 1998
The Kingdom Builders started as Juvland Homecare back in the 90s. Lee and Eric Juveland combined their home remodeling and construction skills to start the company. In the early days, they did everything, from remodeling to new home builds. In 2014, we focused exclusively on the roofing niche. After a season or two, it didn’t take long to realize that gutter installation went hand in hand with roofing, and we added a gutter wing to the company. We've recently expanded to siding and windows as well, having our own crew of installers employed with The Kingdom Builders.
We are a customer-focused, Christian roofing company that strives to live out biblically-based principles in
our work. The majority of our jobs happen in the greater Twin Cities metro. While our job is to provide a great finished product and 100% customer satisfaction, our main goal is to create long-term relationships with our customers.

The "Why"
What is the Heart Behind Kingdom Builders?
The Bible says “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45) and we will echo the statement that “we cannot stop talking about What we have seen and heard.” We believe in the importance of understanding our need for something beyond this life. Although there can be a lot of things to enjoy here, it doesn't take much time living in this world to know that there are some serious defects and problems. There's pain, suffering, conflict, and death. The Bible says that God created a perfect world where none of these problems existed. Everything was “very good”, but sin caused every physical and spiritual problem that we see around us. (See Genesis 1-3 and Romans 8:20-25)
Every single person on this planet has sinned at one point in their life and has broken God's law. Some examples of these sins would include lying (Revelation 2:8), hatred (1 John 3:15), and lust or adultery (Matthew 5:28). Sins like these have caused God's perfect creation to be “groaning” and broken, and they separate us from God. God cannot allow any type of sin to enter heaven, because sin causes death. Romans 5:12 says,” Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man (Adam), and death through sin, in this way death spread to all people because all sinned.”
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
It had to take someone absolutely sinless to bear the guilt of all the world, and it also required a person who could conquer death. The only person who was able to do that was Jesus Christ. The Bible says that Jesus was God In human form (John 1:29 Luke 4:18-22). Jesus lived a completely sinless life, and ultimately he died on the cross for the sins of the world. But what most people don't understand about the cross, is that a legal transaction took place. Because all of us have broken God's law, Jesus stepped in to fulfill the judgment that would be passed to us for violating that law. Then Jesus defeated death by rising from the dead.
It is difficult to understand why Jesus did this, but the Bible explains that “God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that he had for us, made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace!” Ephesians 2:4-5
God was not willing that any of us face judgment, but that all should come to repentance. When we reject that forgiveness, we willingly put ourselves outside of his mercy, and God simply passes the sentence of judgment that we have put on ourselves (Matthew 25:41 and 46). The simple way to being forgiven involves easy steps: to come to God in repentance, agree that we are sinners, and put our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. In John 5:24, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, anyone who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.”

FAQ
The average roof in Minneapolis takes a full workday. This includes tear-off (where we remove the old shingles and roofing materials), installation, and site cleanup. While we can't guarantee your project will be done in a day, our crews are very efficient. There are other factors that affect timing, including the crew, size of the roof, how "cut up" the roof is, roof pitch, special roof features like turrets, etc.
Dumpsters are used to remove old materials from your property. We try to make this process as low maintenance as possible for you as the homeowner. We've discovered that using our own dump trailers helps reduce the amount of time the dumpster sits in your driveway (we know it's an eyesore). In some situations, we will deliver the trailer the day before the roof project starts, and then pick them up the day after your project. If your roof is installed on Friday, it can sometimes sit over the weekend (although we try not to do this). In other cases, our project managers will bring the dump trailer the morning of the project and remove the trailer in the evening. It all depends!
Cedar Shake Roof Tear-Offs: Cedar shakes create a huge amount of material volume, which is too much for our standard dump trailers, so we use large roll-off dumpsters. If you have a brand new driveway or a very nice driveway, we can accommodate this and use multiple dump trailers upon request (this will be an upcharge).
In the Twin Cities area, the cost can be anywhere from $325-$500 per square. There are many factors that go into this pricing, including pitch, number of stories, products used, scope of work, re-roof vs. new construction, flashings, etc. Our quote process will have detailed pricing.
Yes, you’ll need a permit for new roof installations, full roof replacements (if structural changes or major repairs are involved), or repairs affecting the roof’s structure or underlayment. Small fixes, like replacing a few shingles, typically don’t require a permit—check the City of Minneapolis’s exemptions for confirmation.
Roofing projects must follow the Minnesota State Building Code and local Minneapolis rules, including:
- Standards for ventilation and insulation
- Fire safety requirements for materials
- Structural guidelines for snow and wind loads
The work season for outdoor construction in Minneapolis generally runs from late spring through early fall, typically from May to November. This period avoids the harsh winter months when snow, ice, and freezing temperatures make outdoor work difficult or impractical. It’s the ideal time for projects like roofing, siding, window installations, and gutter work. Siding and Windows are more conducive to winter work than roofing and gutters.
It’s possible, but proceed with caution:
- Late fall: Projects like gutter cleaning or minor siding repairs can be done if completed before heavy snow. However, larger projects (e.g., full roof replacements) risk delays if winter arrives early. Roof replacements are discouraged since shingle need heat to seal down. Winter winds can wreck new shingles if they aren't sealed.
- Early spring: Thawing ground and spring rains can complicate groundwork or foundation-related tasks. Roofing and siding work may also face delays due to wet conditions.
