Meadow Lane Shoreview, MN 55126

A few years back, a Shoreview homeowner reached out to us looking for a re-roof quote for their home. Our priority during this project was to deliver an excellent installation while protecting the homeowner’s property while the crew was on-site. This project highlights our dedication to protecting properties and providing customized solutions, even when faced with architectural complexities and different roof angles.

Steep Roof Planes

This Shoreview re-roofing project was anything but ordinary. The home has a steep roof with many planes, making it a complex structure to work on. The challenge was not only in the complexity of the roof’s design but also in protecting the home during the installation process.

Protecting the Home from Damage

One of our top priorities at Kingdom Builders is safeguarding the homeowner’s property. During the re-roofing process, we implemented protective measures around the house. We carefully planned to ensure that no damage occurred to the surrounding areas. From setting up protective barriers to covering landscaping features, our guys were committed to delivering a professional installation.

GAF Timberline Shingles

Choosing the right shingle is a process that both The Kingdom Builders and the homeowner are involved with. The homeowner requested we go with GAF Timberline HDZ shingles, which are known in the industry for performance and resistance to harsh winter weather. The Barkwood color added a natural, earthy tone that complemented the home’s overall design. We typically don’t install GAF shingles but when a homeowner asks for them we’ll install them.

Why doesn’t The Kingdom Builders sell GAF products?

The reason we don’t sell GAF products is mainly because the common bond between the two layers is smaller than Atlas and Owens Corning. When nailing the shingle down, you want to hit the common bond area. The nailing zone on the shingles doesn’t mean you’re going to nail through the common bond area.

Closed Valleys

Due to the roof’s varying pitches, we opted for closed valleys instead of the conventional W-metal valleys. Closed valleys offer several benefits, including:

  • Water Resistance − They create a tighter seal against moisture, which is very helpful  for roofs with multiple pitches.
  • Improved Aesthetic − The seamless look of closed valleys contributes to the overall beauty of the home exterior. (We are an exteriors company, after all.)
  • Simplified Installation − Closed valleys adapt better to complex roof designs, making the installation much easier for our crew.

Project Conclusion

We enjoy working on projects in Shoreview, and this was no exception. Our crew was able to navigate the tricky angles and deliver a well-installed roof that will protect the owner’s investment.
