Yes it is, permits can now be applied for online at elkrivermn.gov. If you're a homeowner and hiring a contractor, make sure the contractor applies for the permit. This is one way to protect yourself from unlicensed contractors. There are many homes outside of the city limits; those permits have to be pulled through Sherburne County. They too now have an online portal to do so. The online portals are a great tool for contractors who do many jobs, like exterior companies.
