Why Are Ice Dams So Bad Some Winters?

Minneapolis gets a lot of snow during the winter. But unlike areas just a few hours to the north, temperatures can fluctuate between freezing and melting. When it gets warm, any snow on your roof melts (especially during the day), and then re-freezes at night, causing ice to begin building. If your home has a lack of insulation in the attic and improper attic ventilation, this can also cause warm air from the house to move up to the attic and warm the roof decking and shingles. 				Another great project completed by The Kingdom Builders! This time installing Marvin Double Hung windows in our one of a kind 1903 triple layer brick home. They did two site visits and measuring sessions with me until I felt we had a great plan to upgrade our windows but maintain the architecture and appearance of our historic home. Scott and Cole have great product knowledge. They communicate and plan well together. They provided me with several options to fit our requirements of quality and price. Luke and his install team were hardworking, clean and efficient. They were careful in our home and covered our belongings, took off their shoes etc. Next year I will have them back to finish more window replacements.

				The Kingdom Builders installed new gutters on my old home as the previous gutters were deteriorating. Lee came up with some creative solutions for the water flows to reduce downspouts and direct the water away from some lowers spots on my property. The crew was timely and friendly.
