Insurance Company Forced Re-roof in Minnetonka, MN
A Minnetonka homeowner was recently required to re-roof their new home to maintain insurance coverage. With the insurance deadline and winter weather approaching, The Kingdom Builders was called in to move quickly on a new roof. The homeowner also wanted the new roof to align with the existing home design without exceeding budget.

Selecting Shingles
Our salesman Matt Gens worked with the homeowner to find the ideal shingle option (Matt has an eye for picking out shingles). They decided on Owens Corning Duration shingles, in the color “Pettercorn”. This was paired with the high-profile Dura Ridge ridge cap, which provided a great contrast with the home’s off-white siding and sand-colored brick front.

Functionality & Aesthetics
The Peppercorn shingles looked great on the home after they were installed. We used a Surnail strip to hold down the Dura Ridge cap with additional strength.
Insurance-Required Re-Roofs Becoming a Growing Trend
This project highlights a trend our team has noticed: an increasing number of insurance companies requiring roof replacements to keep homeowner’s insurance coverage. With this trend comes the need for affordable new roof options. The Kingdom Builders can help homeowners find shigle options that keep prices down, but still look great on the home. We try to work with homeowners and find a solution to meet their budget.
